A little bit of history about the old A series Manta.
I have owned the car since 1989. Its been through many stages in its life. Started as a 1.6 then was upgraded to a 2.0l and now finally with the last rebuild its now a 1.9.
Back in the days when it was running!
The car has been to many Manta shows in its time also 2 trips to Germany to see the touring cars. But in 2002, i think (so the tax dics shows!) it came off the road for the final rebuild. this was going to be one proper rebuild. So car stripped of all external parts (the interior i had done properly before it came off the road) and all the partsand the underneath of the car were bead blasted.
Some pictures of the car coming back. The image details show as September 2005 (did it take me that long to strip it? i did have a daughter in 2004, so that did slow things up a bit 😉
Then it has been the long slow rebuild since then. Changes in direction and wanting to have all new parts that i can get on the car have slowed things up (and getting a motor bike and spending too much time out on that when the weather was good 🙂 So after collecting lots of bits and deciding i should get the car finished i started on the properly in 2011.
And here we are so far. I have lots more pictures and info that i will add later on, But the blog is the main thing to show the full rebuild.
