It’s too easy to spend money at edelschmiede

A massive thank you to Thomas at Edelschmiede for locating me a very had to find oil pressure adaptor for the Manta A. I had been searching for ages for one of these and he found a brand new one 🙂               and while is was arranging with Thomas the delivery i had a quick look on his site http://www.edelschmiede.com/shop/ just in case there was anything i needed. What am i talking about, just in case!! £100 later and i had lots of new parts on my list for Thomas to send as well. If…

Hydraulic clutch fitting on the Opel manta A series

I have always hated the clutch cable crossing over the engine on the a series and wanted to get rid of it and fit a hydraulic clutch, but have found it hard to find any info on someone fitting one. So i did a google and looked at other cars using the wilwood pull cylinder to get some ideas. I decided on an external slave cylinder as its such a pain to drop the 5 speed gearbox on the A if i did have issues. So a plan was hatched. i decided a bracked that bolted to the engine and…

Wilwood brake adapters for Opel manta A series

Finally after months of waiting for CJS enginerring in ferndown (not speedy engineers) they have managed to finish the adapters to fit my wilwood calipers! So any hopes of getting the manta running for the summer are long gone! They do look spot on, so now its off to the cars temp home this weekend for a test fit. All i need then are the correct bolts and a couple of 90 degree goodridge fittings and then i should be able to test the brakes!!

BMW Halo Angel Eyes now all working in the Manta A

Once i had figured out the A series wiriring it was a quoick and simple job to get the lights all working. They work just as the A series ones use to. I cant decide if i should hook up the Halo’s to run as soon as the ignition is turned on so they are like running lights? It should be as easy as swapping a feed out from the ignition to the light switch. But as i have a few other more important things to sort out first so i will leave them as they are and add this to…

BMW Projector Halo Lights by DEPO

I thought i would post this for anyone fitting the BMW E30 Halo projector lights from DEPO . When you get the kit you get a loom to hook up the new Halo part but not for the rest of the kit. So unless you are fitting it to a BMW you will need the plugs for the main and dipped lights. It took me a little while to track down part numbers.Lots of BMW dealers in the US seem to stock them, but i had no luck with any UK ones showing, so it was off to my local BMW…

Custom brake adaptors

So the next little project is to get some brake adaptors made as i cant just buy them off the shelf 🙁 I have Wilwood dynalite 4 pods going on with 280mm vented Volovo front discs. So i have started making up the adaptors, first from an old chopping board! as its easy to cut, then the next step is to make one from ally sheet to test and then get some proper ones cut from that and after that would out the spacing to get the calipers sitting out far enough, then get those turned and welded on. So here…
