Continue readingFinaly all the back suspension has been fitted and is just waiting to be torqued up. But i need to have the car on the gound to do the final torque settings, so its onto all the little bits of welding on the front end and then the chassis rail front sections. The boot floor has the hole in it for the tank, which has been painted and just needs to draw now before fitting it. Then when the front suspension is back in i can lower the car and start on the brakes and fuel lines. Just finishing the…
Continue readingFinally got the tank back from having the collar welded into it and its looking good. The fuel pump with internal swirl pot will sit inside this collar and allow me to run the fuel lines through the car into the boot and straight into the tank which means no messing about with pumps into swirl pots and surge problems as the new pump has the lot built into it. I will still use the original sender so that i get a correct fuel reading. All i need now it to cut the hole in the boot floor so the pump…
Continue readingIts been a while since i have updated the info on here as what with holidays and work i havent had chance to post anything! the axel is finaly back in the car and i will add some pictures soon. The welding to the back end is complete and i now just have to do a bit of work on the sills and around the jack supports and it will be ready for the front suspension to go in. I have the front suspension all ready to go apart from putting in a couple of poly bushes on the lower…
Continue readingI have almost finished getting all the bits ready to put the rear disc brakes back on the car now. But for now here are a few pictures.
Continue readingFinally i have managed to take a few pictures of how the car is at the moment. Its been fully bead blasted underneath and then rust proofed with Zinga and then painted in soothrite. In not sure if i will underseal the car as im sure this can lead to problems later on as if there was any rust it does get masked by the under seal. I have also added a picture of the back axel that im rebuilding as all the running gear had the same treatment.
