Finally got the tank back from having the collar welded into it and its looking good.
The fuel pump with internal swirl pot will sit inside this collar and allow me to run the fuel lines through the car into the boot and straight into the tank which means no messing about with pumps into swirl pots and surge problems as the new pump has the lot built into it. I will still use the original sender so that i get a correct fuel reading. All i need now it to cut the hole in the boot floor so the pump will site nice and safely at the back of the boot.
So now its clean up the tank and paint it, get the seal and clamp to secure the pump intothe tank, cut the hole and its all ready to be connected up.
I will post a picture when the pump is all in secured.
